Space Sanchos and Louie Cruz Beltran headline 24th Street Theatre's free 'Dia de los Muertos' block party on Thurs., Nov. 2

Dia de los Muertos - Latin surf rock band The Space Sanchos and master conguero, bandleader, vocalist and entertainer Louie Cruz Beltran headline 24th Street Theatre's annual Dia de los Muertos block party on Nov. 2.

Celebrate the joyous tradition of Mexico's most famous holiday with entertainment on two stages, including The Space Sanchos; Louie Cruz Beltran; dance folklórico from Sol de Fuego and members of the Tierra Blanca Arts Center; Aztec dance from Huitzilopochtli; music from Mariachi Guadalajara; and stilt walking by La Calaca Guapachosa / skull dancer Ismael Ramírez. Enjoy homemade tamales, face painting, crafts booths and a graveyard where families can make their own altars for their departed loved ones.

The evening kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a procession led by ceremonial dancers Los Chinelos, from the corner of Magnolia and Adams to the festivities at 24th Street Theatre. Bring a flashlight!
