1980s phenomenon pop artist Keith Haring has a problem. Make that two problems. 1) He's in a coma in February 1990, about to die. 2) The Man Who Knows Things and The Woman Who Knows (two beings that may or may not be gods) say his art's going to kill lots of people-unless he travels back to key points in his own life and agrees to destroy it. The horrible thing is, they might be right...
As Keith races through a whirlwind of own life (constantly pursued by the mysterious Man and Woman), he and his friends-mercurial Basquiat, loyal Kenny Scharf, savvy Madonna, and enigmatic Andy Warhol- wrestle with the big questions: What does it mean to pursue a life in art? Can you ever find a balance between making your art and being happy? What do the Man and Woman really want? And how do you stop them?
