SkyPilot Theatre Company Inc., a non-profit theatre company in Los Angeles presents YES SVETLANA, THERE IS A GRANDFATHER FROST, a play by Jeff Goode at The Luna Playhouse, 3706 San Fernando Rd., Glendale, CA 91204 from November 13, 2010 - December 19, 2010. The show runs fridays and saturdays at 8:00 PM and sundays at 7:00 PM. The production is directed by Gideon Potter and stars Lisa Younger, Erika Godwin, Morry Shorr, Tyler Rhoades, Ken Lyle and Bob Rusch.

YES VIRGINIA, THERE IS A GRANDFATHER FROST is a fictional holiday story about the staff of the Solntse Novosti, a public, state-run newspaper in the post World War II Soviet Union. The staff of the Solntse find themselves caught in a struggle between truth, patriotic duty, and survival when a typographical error lands them in trouble with the local politburo. Combining all the conflicts and emotions inherent in the operation and management of the newspaper, the divergent personalities of the staff, the passions of the Holiday Season, and the oppression of the official state scrutiny, the story unfolds with wit, spirit and energy as we watch their struggle to discover and reveal public truth at the peril of private innocence.

This warm holiday tale from Jeff Goode, acclaimed author of LOVE LOVES A PORNOGRAPHOR at Circle X Theatre and THE REINDEER MONOLOGUES at Change Theatre, is produced by SkyPilot Theatre Company, critically acclaimed for such productions as THE END OF CIVILIZATION, REQUIEM FOR A HEAVYWEIGHT, HELLCAB, TAKING SIDES and JERRY AND TOM.

The production's director, Gideon Potter, is renowned for such productions as SEX, DRUGS AND MINI-VANS, and the World Premiere of HIGHEST STATE OF ALERT, both at Two Roads Theatre and his critically acclaimed one-man mask touring comedy THE WONDER FAIRE, in which he also performs.
