Streep Tease: An Evening of Meryl Streep Monologues performed by an All-Male Cast, extends its run thru April 24, to sold out performances every Saturday evening, 8 p.m. at the Bang Improv Theater in Los Angeles, it was announced today by the show's Creator & Co-Executive Producer Roy Cruz. An outrageous, critically acclaimed, celebratory satire of scenes from the most unforgettable movies from one of our greatest contemporary actresses, Streep Tease, which debuted last Sept. 5, is performed by an ensemble cast of eight actors. Co-Executive Produced by Kenneth Hartung, the show is directed by Ezra Weisz and produced by Gretchen Enders.

Meryl Streep's prodigious body of film work serves as the inspiration and fascination for Streep Tease, an all-male cast's re-interpretation of some of the revered actresses' most iconic scenes. Included are monologues from the comedies The Devil Wears Prada and Death Becomes Her, the thriller, The River Wild and the serious of drama of Out of Africa, Sophie's Choice and Silkwood. Though drawn from the dramatic and comedic ‘Canon of Cinema Streep,' all of the scenes evolve into a hilarious, outlandish, kooky and sometimes campy romp through Streep's film repertoire.

"A pop culture fascination has developed with Streep and her movies," says Cruz. "Her body of work and distinctive characters are so recognizable by everyone that the time was ripe to take a new, albeit irreverent, spin on them - Streep Tease is an homage, representing our genuine respect and love for the actress."

Creator/Producer Roy Cruz is a stand up comedian/actor. Among his recent work in television and film include: Keisha Vs. Geisha, a short film he wrote and produced that screened at the Slamdance Film Festival; and his comedy performance on Wisecrack, a Logo TV show. Janeane's Garofalo's Greasy Hair, an essay written by Cruz, was published in the book ‘Out on the Edge: America's Rebel Comics.' He one day hopes to play all the women of Tennessee Williams with Filipino Accent.
Among recent accolades for Streep Tease:

"Bottrell, who selected ‘Out of Africa'...conflates the plot of the entire feature film into six side-splitting minutes, with props, on-stage deaths, and what might just be the very best flight simulation ever to appear behind the proscenium arch... Rose transforms the climactic showdown in ‘The River Wild' into a comedic action sequence, involving water bottles spritzing the air to simulate the churning river and pink fly swatters standing in for oars." Jace Lacob, The Daily Beast
The cast of Streep Tease includes Cruz, David Dean Bottrell (‘Lincoln Meyer' on Boston Legal), Drew Droege (Channel101.com's Fagney & Gaycey), Ron Morehouse (Theatre of Note company member), Steve Hasley (TV credits include How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace), Taylor Negron (The Aristocrats), Mike Rose (creator of web series Planet Unicorn and STOP IT) and Trent Walker (Gods and Generals). Additional credits: Choreographer, Sandy Mooney; and Poster Design, Julian Michael Rivera.
