Pasadena Playhouse (Artistic Director, Sheldon Epps; Interim Managing Director, Ken Novice; Producing Director, Tom Ware) today announced that upon closing night on March 8, 2009 Stormy Weather starring Leslie Uggams as Lena Horne has surpassed SISTER ACT the Musical as the top selling production in both dollars and tickets (SISTER ACT the Musical bows at the London Palladium on June 2, 2009).

Total single ticket sales for Stormy Weather came in at $816,308.45. Pasadena Playhouse Interim Marketing Director, Jonathan Josephson, stated, "This record is especially impressive considering that the average ticket price for Stormy Weather was 23% less than the average ticket price for SISTER ACT. Stormy Weather is also by far the number one selling musical in Playhouse in terms of total paid single tickets at 16,209, besting SISTER ACT by over 3,000 tickets or a near full-week of sold out performances."

Pasadena Playhouse's 2009 season entitled Women: The Heart and Soul of Theatre continues with Theresa Rebeck's suspense-mystery Mauritius on March 27, 2009. Tickets are available by calling the Pasadena Playhouse at 626-356-7529, by visiting the Pasadena Playhouse Box Office, open from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily excluding holidays and online at www.PasadenaPlayhouse.org.
