Learn More about the STARRY Musical
"Paint what you dream..." From the musical writing team Dahan & D'Angelo (The Count of Monte Cristo: The Musical) comes STARRY - a new pop-rock musical about brothers Theo and Vincent van Gogh.
Premiering at the beautiful immersive theater space at Rockwell Table & Stage, STARRY is a story about the thousands of letters between the famous painter, Vincent van Gogh, and his brother, Theo, who made Vincent's dream possible. This inspiring, heartbreaking, and transcendental tale dives into the bohemian zeitgeist of the time: the passion, hope, and anger that came with searching for more.
This production features a mesmerizing, electric ensemble starring: Derek Carley (Daddy Long Legs, Ghost The Musical) as Vincent van Gogh, newcomer Matthew Sanderson as Theo van Gogh, Mariah Rose Faith (Comic-Con The Musical) as Jo Bonger, Jeff Blim (Starkid's The Trail to Oregon, Twisted) as Paul Gauguin, Natalie Llerena (The Madres) as Agostina Segatori, Lovlee Carroll (Around The World in 80 Days) as Emile Bernard, Michael Minto (All is Fair) as Toulouse-Lautrec, Mareena Nicole (Break: The Musical) as Berthe Morisot, Jenaha McLearn (Little Women) as Edgar Degas, and Lennon Hobson (Labyrinth Masquerade) as the Camille Pissarro and Featured Dancer, the Star.
This project, which originally brought together composer-lyricist Matt Dahan (The Babies, Break: The Musical) and dramatist-lyricist Kelly Lynne D'Angelo (My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Their Own), has been showcased several times over the last year as a part of the Foundation of New American Musical's Musi-Cal at Rockwell: Table & Stage (featuring Dylan Saunders, Jaime Lyn Beatty, Will Collyer, Mariah Rose Faith, Matthew Sanderson, Keir Kirkegaard, Katie Moya, Mike Viruet, Kevin Stafford, Jasper Sams, Max Lichtig) and the Foundation of New American Musical's 3rd Mondays at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal in Los Angeles (featuring Justin Michael Wilcox). STARRY was also selected to participate in the 2018 She L.A. Arts Summer Theatre Festival, where it will be performed and workshopped at Hollywood's Zephyr Theatre in June with the same cast.
This summer, come and experience the revolutionary spirit of late 19th century France, the colorful journey of two brothers- and the raw power of expression. For more, follow @starrymusical on Instagram & Twitter to join us on this #starrylife!
