A cast with pop icons like Jon Secada and Jody Watley, Broadway Tony winners, gravity- defying dances, multiple award-winning composers, multicultural music, full orchestra, and a story that travels to sixteen countries – all in one dazzling musical. Directing and choreographing "Loving the Silent Tears" were Tony-nominated Vincent Paterson, with Michael Jackson's and Madonna's world concert tours under his belt, and Emmy-winning Bonnie Story of "High School Musical" fame. But the standing ovation from the 6,000-member audience at the Shrine Auditorium on October 27 wasn't just for a spectacular technical performance or for the Oscars-like red carpet that preceded the show. This show went deeper than most similar events do with its theme about humanity's universal search for inner happiness, as was inspired by the poetry anthology, "Silent Tears," by Supreme Master Ching Hai, a world-renowned spiritual teacher, humanitarian, poet and artist.

The event celebrated the 19th Anniversary of Supreme Master Ching Hai Day to honor humanitarianism. The evening's presenters were Oscar-winning actor George Chakiris, TV host and former Miss USA Susie Castillo, award-winning actor Corey Feldman, "Baywatch" actress Kelly Packard, and 2-time Emmy-winning soap star Kristoff St. John – all of them vegetarians who themselves give of their time to make the world a better place.

Supreme Master Ching Hai, who gave a nice surprise of a video greeting for the audience, generously donated $300,000 to several charity organizations: Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, The Salvation Army, Animal Defenders International, and Worldwide Veterinary Service.
