Eight-time Emmy® Award-winner Edward Asner (Lou Grant; The Mary Tyler Moore Show; Roots; Rich Man, Poor Man) and Academy Award® nominee June Squibb (Nebraska) star in a staged reading of WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES, a play by Christine Rosensteel.

Playwright Christine Rosensteel elaborates, "In Whatever Your Heart Desires, Daniel and Issy are an elderly married couple who have enjoyed a long and happy life together. Daniel is less in control of his faculties with the advance of years, and Issy in painfully aware of their isolation and peril. Edward Asner and June Squibb portray Daniel and Issy with the grace of grandparents who exude endless love."

Candy and Harley - young and homeless - take Daniel home after he's fallen on the street. Seeing the house and the elders' plight ignites mixed emotions over finding their "gold mine." Fueling the flames is Harley's evil half-brother, Keith.

Rosensteel shares, "It is a play that evokes laughter and tears, conveying a bittersweet story that captures both the perils of aging: isolation, loss of family and friends, loss of capacity to think or climb stairs; and the dreams of frustrated youth: achievement, comfort, love. Overall, it is a love story, depicting value in multi-generational relationships: the elders possess wisdom to impart to youths who sometimes have desire to learn."

Several of Ms. Rosensteel's plays have been produced in Los Angeles, including A Widow's Kiss, Cherry Pie, and That Kind Of Woman.
