The Visceral Company will present the Los Angeles premiere of SOUTHERN GOTHIC NOVEL: The Aberdeen, Mississippi Sex-Slave Incident, a hilarious recounting of a series of awful events that beset a small southern town.

Conceived, written and performed by New York stage veteran Frank Blocker* (Stabilized Not Controlled; Suite Atlanta; Eula Mae's Beauty, Bait & Tackle), SOUTHERN GOTHIC NOVEL earned a New York Drama Desk nomination for best solo show.

SOUTHERN GOTHIC NOVEL will play January 18 through March 30, 2013 at the Underground Theater, 1312 N. Wilton Pl., Hollywood, CA. Performances are Friday and Saturday late nights at 11 pm.

In SOUTHERN GOTHIC NOVEL, Mr. Blocker plays 17 different characters from the small town of Aberdeen, Mississippi - all within the space of an hour - delivering dialogue in rapid fire and myriad regional accents. He also uses skilled pantomime to create every conceivable piece of scenery and action, even a knock-down-drag-out fight between four characters and a hostage.

Tickets for SOUTHERN GOTHIC NOVEL are $12 for all performances, and are available through www.thevisceralcompany.com. Official opening night is Friday, February 1. There are special preview performances on January 18, 19, 25 & 26 with all tickets just $5.

Mr. Blocker is also appearing concurrently in the West Coast premiere of The Deep Throat Sex Scandal at the Zephyr Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Visceral Company is dedicated to presenting killer shows from darker places. We hope to encourage further onstage exploration of the horror, thriller and science fiction genres, which have been underrepresented in theatre, and to build an appreciation of theatre in the younger audiences that are traditionally drawn to them.

* Member, Actor's Equity Association. This production is presented under the AEA LA 99-Seat Theatre Plan.
