South Coast Repertory will start off the new year with the West Coast Premiere of A Feminine Ending, Sarah Treem's romantic comedy about a female musician who aspires to become a composer - but first must find composure in her love life.  Directed by Timothy Douglas, A Feminine Ending will run from January 6 through January 27 on the Julianne Argyros Stage.  Low-priced previews are available January 6-10.  Opening night is Jan. 11. Press night is Saturday, January 12 at 7:45PM.  Tickets to A Feminine Ending may be purchased online at www.scr.org, by phone at (714) 708-5555 or in person at the SCR box office.

A Feminine Ending is a life-affirming comedy about a young oboist who has put her music career on hold.  It takes time to write a symphony; besides, there are other considerations. Amanda has a full-time job.  Her boyfriend is about to reach celebrity status.  Her mother is about to leave her father.  And she's about to connect with the one who got away.  A Feminine Ending offers a smart, funny and often surprising look at the choices women make and the men who impact those choices.

In the role of Amanda, SCR welcomes back Brooke Bloom, who played Ophelia in last season's lauded production of Hamlet.  Her out-of-sync parents are played by Alan Blumenfeld (Born Yesterday) and Amy Aquino.  Amanda's love interests are played by Peter Katona and Jedadiah Schultz.

The creative team for A Feminine Ending includes Tony Cisek (set design), Candice Cain (costume design), Peter Maradudin (lighting design), Vincent Olivieri (composer), Colbert S. Davis IV (sound design) Scott Bishop (assistant director) and Julie Haber (stage manager).

Tickets to A Feminine Ending can be purchased online at www.scr.org, by phone at (714) 708-5555 or by visiting the box office at 655 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa.  Performances begin on Jan. 6 and continue through Jan. 27.  Ticket prices range from $20 to $62.  Low-priced preview performances are available from Jan. 6-10.

Previews:  Sunday, Jan. 6 at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Thursday, Jan. 10 at 7:45 p.m.  Regular Performances:  Tuesday through Sunday evenings at 7:45 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.  Discounts are available for full-time students, patrons 25 years of age and under, educators, seniors and groups of 15 or more.  There will be a "Pay-What-You-Will" performance on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 2:00 p.m. (Suggested Price:  $10; $7 Minimum) and an ASL-interpreted performance on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 2:00 p.m.

South Coast Repertory is located at 655 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa, at the Bristol Street/Avenue of the Arts exit off the San Diego (405) Freeway in the Folino Theater Center, part of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.  Parking is available off Anton Blvd. on Park Center Drive.
