Ross John Gosla Stars In Miranda Spigener-Sapon's  COFFEE WITH JOHN  Image

Today, The Sunday Los Angeles Times headlined Miranda Spigener-Sapon's first time stage adaptation of the award-winning Coffee with John as a must see night of music and theatre where #LoveDefiesSpaceTime. It is a sci-fi story about love that defies the space time continuum. A young journalist from the romantic era of John Keats and his literary circle passes through a portal in time, traveling to the present day and falls in love with a young literary professor. The journalist is played by the critically acclaimed/award-winner Ross John Gosla and the young professor by multiple ACTRA Award nominee Michelle Boback.

"I tend to be a romantic at heart with a love for noir, sci-fi and literature...so I combined the loves, worked poet John Keats in the mix and Coffee with John was born," says writer/director Spigener-Sapon.

Up and comer Donny Fox will portray the role of Romantic Era poet, John Keats. The play is Stage Managed by Alex Krogedal who will play a cameo as Keat's Literary circle and friend, Percy Shelley. The play is Executive Produced by Colleen McClafferty who starred as Nurse Kate Marshall in Spigener-Sapon's previous hit play The Flame. Felipe Sapon was the Director of Photography for the Amazon Prime broadcast of The Flame, as well as Cinematographer on The Power of Forgiveness film that debuted at Cannes MIPCOM Market. The evening will open with R&B artist Indica Jones EP release/performance of Kolors and Michelle Boback will be performing her singles "Tuesday" and "Mmm...Elias".

Ross John Gosla plays the journalist, Ellison Connelly. Gosla recently received critical acclaim by The Huff Post, Broadway World, The Los Angeles Times, Arts Beat LA and several top bloggers for his one-man show Desert Warrior: A Benghazi Story, which won the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival's Producers Encore Award. Ross hails from Arizona where he received his B.A. in Theatre from Arizona State. Focused on acting he performed in over a dozen plays and student films. Beyond performing he served a year as Producing Director at the student run Prism Theatre. After college, he was a founding member of the performance groups Orange Theatre Group and Sindicated Productions. He also starred as the romantic lead in award-winning play The Flame. Ross will soon star as the lead in the feature film Intrigue and The Flame (adapted from the play), both slated to shoot 2018 as well as the narrator in the documentary Masculinity That Inspires Change for Amazon Prime, May 2018. Ross will direct the play Dealer's Choice by Patrick Marber (Closer) Fall 2018 at the Complex Theatre. He also signed dual a book/movie deal to co-write with Spigener-Sapon, the prequel to the new sci-fi series Marisa Romanov.

Michelle Boback portrays the young professor, Callie Witherspoon. Michelle is a 2-time ACTRA Award nominee for her lead performance in the film 'Day Before Yesterday' with director Patricia Chica, and as Dr. Megan Reed in the video-game Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided. Her connection to video games doesn't end there, as she worked with Guenter Schulz and En Esch (of KMFDM-fame, Mortal Kombat soundtrack) on three of their solo albums as Slick Idiot. Her Sophomore album 'Release' with producer Beatchild. She also has several hits on rotation like Dark Days and Save Me on iHeartRadio as a singer/songwriter. Indica Jones is a progressive, R&B artist based in Los Angeles and his new EP Kolors is about the colors of emotions people experience in their life.

Miranda Spigener-Sapon, a BFA Film Studies/Writing graduate, debuted her thesis film True at L'Entrepot Cinema in Paris. She later directed the PBS TV series Eat Art. Spigener-Sapon's documentary Walk On aired from 1999-2000 on TLC/Discovery Networks. She also directed a poignant PSA commemorating the Vietnam Moving Wall Project that aired on ABC/CBS/NBC and Cable. Later, Miranda directed/wrote the noir/fantasy Marisa Romanov which was part of the Official Shorts Selection of the 2001 International Venice Film Festival, earning Audience Choice and Alternate Selection at the 2001 Berlin Film Festival. Recently, Spigener-Sapon directed The Power of Forgiveness which debuted at 2017 MIPTV/Cannes and THR announced Miranda as Showrunner/Creator for the adaptation of Marisa Romanov as a noir/sci-fi cable series and just signed a publishing contract along with her writing partner Ross Gosla, with studio option attached on a book deal prequel to the Marisa Romanov story.
