Rockwell Hosts A STAR IS BORN Special Concert Event Image

Conceived and Directed by Blake McIver (Ragtime, "Full House," "The People's Couch"), A STAR IS BORN3 is an evening of music and moments from three iconic A Star Is Born films. Scenes and songs from the three separate yet similar stories are woven together as one to create a unique singular experience. Featuring a stellar cast performing the hits and heart-wrenching moments including "The Man That Got Away", "Evergreen", and "Shallow." A STAR IS BORN3 opens on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 for one night at The Rockwell Table & Stage, 1714 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, California 90027. Musical Direction by Jack Lipson, Produced by Emerson Collins and Tal Fox.

"I've always been enamored with A Star Is Born," says director Blake McIver, "and immediately after seeing the most recent version I began thinking about how the threads of these three films could be used to inform each other in a singular venue. You will see some moments from all three films and at times one moment to represent the same story point in all of the films alongside pulling together three distinctly different musical styles that complement each other." Producer Emerson Collins added, "this central story, of two stars who find love of each other and music as one star is on the rise and the other burns out, is incredibly impactful. Blake has found a truly brilliant way to celebrate the individuality and similarity of all three at the same time."

"We could not be more delighted than to bring our love of these films, their music, and story to a theatrical experience at such a fabulous venue, The Rockwell," says producer, Tal Fox. Fox recently ran into Lady Gaga in a bathroom at the Sunset Tower Hotel who gave her blessing on this project. "It was really special to randomly connect with Lady Gaga and to share about this. She was the coolest and seemed supportive. She was excited for 'Evergreen', saying it was such a fantastic song, and told me I'd make a great 'Barbra'," said Fox.
