"Entourage's" Rex Lee, Mackenzie Phillips, Beth Grant and Aram Rappaport star in a staged reading of the screenplay, Daybreak, Monday, October 29 at 8PM at The Hayworth. Directed by Lynne Moses, and written by Moses and Aram Rappaport, Daybreak is a production of The Hayworth Theatre's popular Bruno Kirby Celebrity Reading Series.
"Set in a surreal version of contemporary America - where global war rages, gas is scarce, and the draft is back, Daybreak tells the story of 19-year-old Taylor Dansen after he learns he's been drafted. Taylor spends the next 24 hours before he's due to report recovering from his past, while considering choices for his future. As he encounters friends and relatives - for possibly the last time – he grapples with their strong arguments about what he should do. However, before Taylor can make the decision that's right for him, he must first reclaim his spirit and the love he lost," explain press notes.
Rex Lee portrays Lloyd, Ari Gold's much-maligned assistant on the hit HBO series "Entourage." Lee has made guest appearances on shows such as "Dave's World," "Son of the Beach," "Lucky" and "Andy Richter Controls the Universe."
Beth Grant has starred in over seventy feature films including last years hit Little Miss Sunshine. Among her many film appearances include Rock Star, The Rookie, Matchstick Men, Rain Man, City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly's Gold, To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, A Time to Kill and Speed. Grant has appeared in over thirty theatrical productions and is a recipient of The Los Angeles Drama Critics Award, The L.A. Stage Alliance Award and The Backstage West Garlan Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Del Shores' The Trials And Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife.
Seen in "One Day At A Time," Mackenzie Phillips career spans over 30 years. Daughter of John Phillips of the Mamas and the Pappas, Mackenzie's first break came with her role in the 1973 hit movie American Graffiti.
