ONE WOMAN TWO LIVES COMES TO THE GROVE THEATRE in Upland on September 11th, following a successful World Premiere in Los Angeles

In One Woman Two Lives, Samantha Cooke, played by Kellita Smith (Bernie Mac Show), a conflicted woman torn between two worlds, is fighting to sustain and protect her family from a past that threatens to undermine her almost perfect present. Married to Jonathan, a successful mega preacher, Samantha has been voted First Lady of the Year. The accolade, however, causes the mother of three to doubt herself and her worthiness. In spite of receiving encouragement from her family and neighbors, Samantha can't seem to shake the uneasiness that begins to envelop her. As the play takes on surprising and startling twists and turns, her doubts and worries unfortunately become warranted. Written by Alretha Thomas

Kellita Smith gives a superb and at times gut-wrenching performance. All of the actors in this performance rose to the occasion ...LA Watts Times

Kellita Smith is charismatic, Esther Scott is glorious and Billy Mayo is absolutely magnificent in the top-notch production of "One Woman, Two Lives". Denise Dowse's direction opens authentic conviction from the performers. It is a sense of vibrancy that is deeply felt. This is a production that has emotional grace. Highly recommended says the Tolucan Times.

Billy Mayo is definitively intimidating while Sharon Munfus - playing a great girlfriend but a shrewish wife -- is on target as both says The LA Weekly.
