Following a successful and sold-out debut earlier this year, the highly popular multifaceted musical artist and Broadway performer Cortes Alexander will continue his residency with another special show.
With his beautiful and soulful Swell Girls in tow, Melissa Bailey ("Twin Peaks") and Marissa Roberts, with musical direction from David Arana, Alexander will once again delight guests in the audience with his reinvented renditions of popular standards from The Great American Songbook.
The show will take place once again at Los Angeles' prized venue, Upstairs at Vitello's, in Studio City, on Thursday, August 16.
During the show, the classical Juilliard trained musician can be expected to pepper in fan-requested and highly personal originals, such as "Pilot Bird," from his critically acclaimed studio album, Swell, which at the time of its release received outstanding reviews from everywhere from BroadwayWorld to The Miami Herald, and everywhere in between.
Prior to his Swell residency at Upstairs at Vitello's, Alexander packed houses and sold out shows at popular cabaret and concert venues across the U.S., ranging from Los Angeles' Federal Bar and Hollywood Renaissance Hotel to Chicago's Davenport's Piano Bar to New York's Birdland.
Alexander has also extensively toured with Liza Minnelli as an integral part of her shows, including starring in her Tony Award-winning Broadway concert, "Liza's at the Palace."
"Swell Standard Time" will begin at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. for dinner. Upstairs at Vitello's Supper Club is located at 4349 Tujunga Blvd in Studio City.
Tickets for the performance are $25 for general seating and $40 for VIP. Tickets are available for purchase in advance through www.vitellosrestaurant.com or by calling (818) 769-0905. For tickets purchased the day of the show, general seating tickets will be $35 and $50 for VIP.
