Presented by The Barn Stage Company, in association with Temecula Presents, this all-star production of Jason Robert Browns' Songs For A New World opens tonight at the Old Town Temecula stage for 4 nights only, January 12-15!

The show runs only one weekend, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater in beautiful Old Town Temecula. Songs For A New World will be directed and choreographed by Evan D'Angeles, with Musical Direction by AJ Rafael.

It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... or take a stand... or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World. The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make. With a small, powerhouse cast and a driving, exquisitely crafted score that runs the gamut of today's popular music, Songs for a New World is a great way to bring the next generation into the theatre.

The show is performed by an all-star-cast from San Diego, Los Angeles and New York! Kennen Butler* makes his way to Temecula from New York, to play the role of Man #1. This marks his first performance on U.S. soil after spending time performing in Japan. He has been named as one of "Broadway's Rising Stars". (Tours: Seussical the Musical (Wickersham), Off-Broadway:, Tommy (Pinball Lad), Regional: RENT (Angel), Aida (Mareb), Myths and Hymns, Hairspray (Duane/Seaweed u/s). From Los Angeles, Maggie Randolph will play the role of Woman #2. (Off B'way: Wanda's World (Wanda), Regional: The Full Monty (Georgie), Fiddler on the Roof (Fruma Sarah), West Side Story (Velma) and Oklahoma! (Ado Annie). Maggie recently won the 2016 LA's Next Great Stage Star and she was a finalist for the Young Arts Awards for Musical Theatre. Bryan Banville (Man #2) joins the company from San Diego! He was most recently seen performing in Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings at the Welk Resort Theater. (Old Globe: Camp David and Anna Christie; La Jolla Playhouse: Untitled Hunter S. ThompsonProject (workshop); San Diego Rep: Violet; SDMT: The Producers, Ragtime, Singin' in the Rain, and La Cage aux Folles; Moonlight Stage Productions: Titanic, The Music Man, Spamalot, Mary Poppins, and Catch Me If You Can). Charlene Koepf, from Vista, California will take on the role of Woman #1. She was last seen in Lamb's Players American Christmas, Laurey in Oklahoma! (New Village Arts), Irene Molloy in Hello Dolly (Welk Theatre), Fräulein Kost in Cabaret (Welk Theatre), Cosette in Les Mis (Lamb's Players), Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof (Lamb's Players), Young Little Edie in Grey Gardens (Ion Theatre), Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof (Moonlight).

The show is directed and choreographed by Evan D'Angeles, who also serves as the Casting Director for The Barn Stage Company. Associate Director and Choreographer for The Barn Stage Company's productions of Spring Awakening. Choreographer for the west coast premiere of Magdalene - a new musical, director/choreographer/actor in Songs For A New World at Three Trees Theatre in Costa Mesa, and assistant choreographer for Walt Disney Creative Entertainment Special Events. Performance Credits include: Broadway: Miss Saigon, Pacific Overtures (Revival). National Tours: RENT (Angel), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Cats. Regional: His Girl Friday (La Jolla Playhouse), Here Lies Love (Williamstown), Disney's Tarzan (Terk), Dennis DeYoung's Hunchback of Notre Dame (Quasimodo), Miss Saigon (Thuy), Finding Nemo (Crush). The musical director for Songs For A New World is AJ Rafael, an American musician of Filipino descent who has self-released two EPs and one album. Originating from Moreno Valley, California, he has toured internationally and worked on various theatrical projects. The design team includes Matthew Herman (Scenic/Projection Design), Joel Britt (Lighting Design), and stage management by Chelsea Nicole. Shealyn Sailors (Casting Associate). J. Scott Lapp (Artistic Director) and Jordan Beck (Executive Director) present.
