On Saturday, May 14, 2016 The LA Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence won The 5th Annual Drag Queen World Series against the returning champions The West Hollywood Cheerleaders. Drag Queen World Series raises awareness of the fact that the AIDS pandemic is not over and to erase the stigma, and is also an opportunity to raise financial support forThe Life Group LA. The group's main goal is to continue providing education and emotional support to persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Prior to the game, The West Hollywood Mayor, Lauren Meister presented a proclamation to Life Group LA on behalf of the Play Ball Initiative at the World Series. The City of West Hollywood will also register the Drag Queen World Series as an officialPlay Ball event. The City of West Hollywood takes part in the United States Conference of Mayors Play Ball Initiative, which is an event to engage communities in baseball related activities.

Special Guests included:

- West Hollywood Mayor, Lauren Meister throwing the out the Ceremonial First Pitch

- NFL Draft Eben Britton

- Recording artist, Pepper MaShay performed the National Anthem

- Chico's Angels, Chita Parol & Frieda Laye performed the games colorful commentary

Music was spun by super DJ eur-O-Steve who kept all those ball a flying!

All money raised at the event this weekend benefits The Life Group LA(www.lifegroupla.org) a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of persons both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS so that they may make informed choices and decisions regarding their healthcare and personal well being.

THE NEXT EVENT: The Life Group L.A. presents its 11th Annual "Saddle Up LA." (www.SaddleUpLA.org). An AIDS Benefit Horseback Trail Ride and Country BBQ which will be held Saturday July 9th, 2016 in the Beautiful and Majestic Griffith Park Mountains.

The Life Group LA, a 501 c 3 non profit was founded in 2005 and provides free of charge, much needed information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar. All services are offered in a non-judgmental and safe environment with compassion and understanding. Safety, respect and confidentiality are the cornerstones of Life Group LA's philosophy. It is accomplished by providing trained support group facilitators for emotional support groups and POZ Life Weekend Seminars. These facilitators have been trained in the art of active listening and conduct themselves with empathy and compassion.
