The Katselas Theatre Company launches its 2010 Season with the World Premiere of Shem Bitterman's dark comedy, Influence, directed by Steve Zuckerman. Producing is Gary Grossman. The production stars acclaimed film/television/stage actor, Alan Rosenberg. The production opens Saturday, March 6 at the Skylight Theatre.
There's a stink of corruption in the offices of World Bank, the world's premier development agency, as a young, idealistic Midwesterner falls under the influence of the bank's powerful new Director. Loosely inspired by Paul Wolfowitz's brief tenure as World Bank Director, Influence is the final play in Shem Bitterman's celebrated Iraq War trilogy, which also includes the plays, Harm's Way and Man.Gov.
Influence also features: Bobby Cicchini, Irina Costa, Christopher Curry, Ian Lockhart, Kate Siegel, Vanessa Celso, Brian Elerding, and Dep Kirkland.
The production design team includes, Jeff McLaughlin, Set and Light Design; Rodger Bellon, Composer; David Bartlett, Sound Design; Dean Kreyling, Production Stage Manage; Adam Rotenberg, Associate Producer.
Opening weekend of Influence is Saturday, March 6 at 8pm and Sunday, March 7 at 1pm (in respect for the Academy Awards broadcast).
Performances continue Fri, Sat at 8 pm, Sun at 7pm, until April 4. Skylight Theatre is located at 1816 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Ticket Prices are: General - $25; students and seniors- $15. For tickets call: 310-358-9936.
