Theatre of NOTE kicks off its 2016 season with the world premiere of PHRAZZLED, written and directed by Phinneas Kiyomura. Meet Phraz and Frasz, two different (or the same) "wannabe" writers battling ego, jealousy, love and doubt, as they strive for, and attempt to define, success in Hollywood. PHRAZZLED opened last night, April 14, and runs through Saturday, May 21 at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (just north of Sunset) in Hollywood. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
PHRAZZLED is set in the space adjacent to a TV production's writers' room, as their assistants juggle their daily, rote tasks and face the challenge of a blank page as they attempt to create the key that will open the door to that room. PHRAZZLED looks at life from two different viewpoints, and asks the more universal question: Who is telling the story of your life? And, can they write?
The cast of PHRAZZLED features the talents of longtime NOTE members: Troy Blendell, Tony DeCarlo, Gina Garcia-Sharp and Andrea Ruth, and the NOTE debuts of: Keith Hanson, Sierra Marcks and Will McFadden.
PHRAZZLED features an array of theatrical designers both familiar and new to the NOTE stage, including: Scenic Design by Naomi Kasahara, Lighting Design by Eb Madry, Costume Design by Kimberly Freed (2015 Ovation and Stage Raw Nominee), Original Music and Sound Design by Dean Harada, Prop Master Hannah Dean, Fight Director Mike Mahaffey and Assistant Stage Manager Michelle Cullen. The production is stage managed by Stacy Benjamin.
Tickets are $25; students and seniors are $20. For tickets and details, call (323) 856-8611, or visit www.theatreofnote.com to purchase tickets online and to view the complete schedule. Due to mature themes and adult language this production is not recommended for children under 16.
