Shakespeare Orange County will present William Shakespeare’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING through September 1 at Garden Grove’s Festival Amphitheatre ---outside and "Under the Stars." Set during the 1920s, this production features costumes and music of the era. The Festival Amphitheatre will allow audiences to enjoy watching the story of "Beatrice and Benedick" unfold through the brilliant language and action of the play performed by professional actors from an open-air stage. Founding Artistic Producing Director Thomas F. Bradac directs.

Returning this season are Michael Nehring as Benedick, and Evelyn Carol Case in the role of Beatrice. As a founding member of Shakespeare Orange County, Michael Nehring (Benedick) has been seen as Iago in OTHELLO, Touchstone in AS YOU LIKE IT, Polonius in HAMLET, Gloucester in KING LEAR, Shylock in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, and as Prospero in THE TEMPEST. Michael was also a founding member of the award-winning Friends and Artists Theatre Ensemble (FATE) in Los Angeles. Directing and choreography credits include ROMEO AND JULIET for Shakespeare Orange County, IF I SHOULD DIE BEFORE I WAKE, La Mirada Civic, WEST SIDE STORY for San Jose Civic Light Opera, LOOKING GLASS for Laughing Horse Repertory, and THE THREEPENNY OPERA for FATE .
Shakespeare Orange County continues its 21st season with MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at the Festival Amphitheatre in Garden Grove. Prior to each performance, SOC guests can enjoy the company's Elizabethan style pre-show while relaxing over a picnic basket of their favorite foods with friends and family. A picnic area is open on the Village Green, just adjacent to the amphitheatre. Light concessions will be available for purchase, and plenty of free parking is available.
Tickets for Shakespeare Orange County performances are $34.00 (reserved seating) with $32.00 pricing for students/seniors, and may currently be purchased online at the Shakespeare Orange County website: www.shakespeareoc.org or by phone or in person at the Festival Amphitheatre box office from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Festival Amphitheatre is located in Euclid Park -- 12762 Main St., Garden Grove, CA. 92840.
