Photo Flash: Caridad Svich's ARCHIPELAGO Makes U.S. Debut

Archipelago by Caridad Svich is presented at the Son of Semele Theater, 3301 Beverly Boulevard, through June 18, 2017.

Lyrical and dreamlike, Archipelago follows two lovers across time and continents, through chance encounters and missed connections. She lives detached from her own history; his casts a shadow wherever he goes. Theirs is the story of our globalized world, crystallized in Caridad Svich's humane insights and haunting prose.

"Archipelago makes the personal political," says director Barbara Kallir, "focusing on people from different cultures who want to be together but are driven apart time and again by world events, misunderstandings, and unreliable memories. I often refer to it as a love story about globalization."
