Actors Co-op Theatre Company's production of the Tony nominated musical VIOLET, opened to a Sold Out house and garnered a Standing Ovation, on Friday, May 11, at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre in Hollywood, California.
VIOLET with music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by Brian Crawley, based on the short story "The Ugliest Pilgrim" by Doris Betts, is directed by Richard Israel and produced by Thomas Chavira. Leaving her North Carolina home behind, Violet boards a bus and travels through the segregated South to be healed by a minister, convinced he can heal her scar, while discovering the true meaning of beauty along the way.
Actors Co-op Theatre Company's production of VIOLET runs now through June 17. Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm, Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm. Additional Saturday matinees May 19 and May 26 at 2:30 pm.
