WICKED, the new musical that is the winner of 15 major awards including the Grammy and 3 Tony(R) Awards, tells the untold story of the witches of Oz. The Los Angeles premiere engagement is currently playing through July 31 at the Pantages Theatre and then the national tour travels to selected cities across the country. WICKED continues to play at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City and the Ford Center for the Performing Arts in Chicago.
WICKED has music and lyrics by five-time Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Pippin, Godspell) and book by Winnie Holzman (My So Called Life, thirtysomething). Based on the 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED is directed by 2003 Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and features musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento. It is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone. The national tour of WICKED stars Stephanie J. Block (Broadway's The Boy From Oz), Kendra Kassebaum (Broadway's Rent),Carol Kane (two-time Emmy Award-winner for TV's Taxi) and David Garrison (TV's Married With Children, Broadway's Titanic and A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine-Tony Award nomination).
