On Sun, Feb 14, 2010 at 8pm - Film, Television and Broadway Tony Nominee Sheryl Lee Ralph performed a rare, intimate concert at LA's Upright Cabaret to benefit Haiti victims and HIV/AIDS causes through her DIVA Foundation which is celebrating its 20th year of raising money for HIV/AIDS causes.
Entitled "with Love on Valentine's Day," the original Dreamgirl took the sold-out audience on a musical journey of songs ranging from the disco hit "We Are Family" to Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel," to Broadway show-stoppers like Sunset Boulevard's "As If We Never Said Goodbye" to Dreamgirls "And I Am Telling You" and "One Night Only."
The smart, sexy and brilliantly talented Ms. Ralph captivated the audience with the help of legendary L.A. Music Director Gerald Sternbach, and her friends, Jenifer Lewis and original Dreamgirl cast mate Loretta Devine. Although seated in the audience, Ms. Ralph included both songstresses in many of her skits and stories of life on Broadway and beyond.
