Laura Dickinson, Richard Bermudez, and John LaLonde lead EVITA at Candlelight Pavilion
EVITA opens May 16, 2015 at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont, blending a fine dining and musical theatre experience during their 30th season. With more than 20 major awards to it's credit, and the Oscar winning film version starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas, Evita has become iconic. It features some of the most memorable and best loved songs in musical theatre, including "Don't Cry For Me Argentina," "On This Night of a Thousand Stars," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall," and the Academy Award winning song "You Must Love Me."
Laura Dickinson steps into the title role for the second time, best known for her extensive work with Disney TV Animation on Phineas and Ferb, Jake and The Never Land Pirates, and Sofia The First. Her debut album "One For My Baby - to Frank Sinatra with Love" is charting and receiving airplay across the country.
Southern California Musical Theatre favorites Richard Bermudez plays Che, and artistic director John LaLonde plays Colonel Juan Peron. Lucas Coleman is Magaldi, Alexandra Specter is Peron's Mistress. The ensemble is comprised of John Paul Batista and Emily Dauwalder (Tango Dancers), Stephanie Inglese, Candice Rochelle Berge, Jimmy Oronoz, Lance Smith, Fernando Christopher, Jennifer Harmon, Cecilia Marquez, Jason Marquez, Jonah Marquez, Karina Marquez, Christopher Bryan Gomez, Stanton Morales, Aleesha McNeff, Quentin Garzon, Samantha Claire, and Robert Murray.
