This past weekend's first Art Project Los Angeles was a rousing success as more than 700 guests enjoyed the event, a three-day, red-carpet charity art auction and artists reception at world-renowned Hollywood auction house Bonhams & Butterfields. Presented by Westime and Richard Mille, the event raised more than $235,000 to benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA). BroadwayWorld brings you full coverage below.
Attending guests bid on an exceptional collection of artwork, sculpture, photography, furnishings and more during the live and silent auctions. Up for auction were works by world-class artists including Basquiat, Haring, Hockney, Longo, Picasso, Ruscha, and Warhol, as well as works from exciting local and emerging artists, and a never-before-seen, limited edition Richard Mille watch valued at $90,000.
All proceeds benefit APLA programs and services, including the Necessities of Life Program, which provides food to low-income Angelenos who are facing HIV/AIDS and hunger.
