BRyan Miller,

There is a $15 cover charge in effect for Judy Takes Broadway and a 2 drink or dinner entree minimum . Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling (323)-467-7444.
Mac will be appearing monthly at
Tom Rolla's Gardenia as
Judy Garland (and
Liza Minnelli ) . The tribute artist is renowned for his homage to the rainbow girl, garnering special raves for his determination to bring to life the style, wit and musical legacy of an artist rather than caricature her familiar frailties as a human being.
In 2005 Mac was interviewed for the United Kingdom television documentary, Hollywood Goddesses. In once in a lifetime opportunity, Mac took the stage as Garland at New York's historic Palace theatre, recreating moments from Garland's concert repertoire and the three famous engagements she played at that venue. In 2007, Mac was cast again as Garland along with several other Garland impersonators to perform in Rufus Does Judy at
Carnegie Hall.
Happily received by longtime fans and critics,
Peter Mac in Judy At
Carnegie Hall provides the kind of musical and dramatic experience unique to the cabaret world. As per the critics:
"
Peter Mac is Brilliant! When one watches and listens to Mac perform as Garland, it's hard to distinguish where reality ends and illusion begins... the vocals are so close and the re-creation so precise that it's nearly impossible not to be taken in completely... every mannerism that Garland had is there....simply impeccable!" - Elliot Zwieback, Cabaret Scenes
"
Judy Garland lives again!
Peter Mac is making entertainment history! His brilliance is obvious. Mac has an ingredient that adds up to a great star quality...I'd come back a thousand times!"
-
Joe Franklin. TV and Radio Impresario
"Peter Mac is Judy Garland ...not a drag show! The illusion extends well beyond that antiquated form of performance. His portrayal of La Garland is Magical, Musical , Wonderful, and Brilliant. He has a gift for vocal mimicry... I can't wait to see the rest of his cadre of Ladies." - Jackie Collins , Best Selling Author
"
Peter Mac is the
Charles Pierce, Craig Russell and
Jim Bailey of this generation! Bravo!"
-
Sammy Williams, Tony Award Winner (A Chorus Line, 1975)
"Spot on...looks and sounds like the real thing! So Warm and Wonderful , you'll thank God you're not in Kansas anymore!" - PM Magazine
"The incomparable Peter Mac does not impersonate Judy Garland, he recreates her! Even Judy would approve." - Leon hall, Fashion critic and TV Personality
"A warm ,dizzy ,happy upward spiral of joy! ....
Peter Mac in a performance that kept me guessing his gender until I read the Playbill!" - Jonathan Warman, HX Magazine
"
Peter Mac's
Judy Garland is not merely impersonation, it is a knowing and loving portrayal of the woman and the artist-a Judy both funny and touching . While he captures Garland's famous vocal mannerism's , he does not let them descend to caricature . His patter is smart and witty, yet with all of it's sharpness, never mean spirited. Marvelously entertaining, this is lovely work!" -
Roy Sander, NY Critic
