The Pasadena Playhouse announces "Fostering the Memories," an open house event for the community and general public on Sunday, October 20, 2013, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. The free event, hosted by Playhouse Board Member Darrell Brooke in partnership with the Friends, Alumni & Associates and the Ambassadors, invites everyone and anyone interested in learning about The Playhouse's history, its current programming, volunteer opportunities and general information. Red, White and Bluezz will be providing free food and beverages, and entertainment. Concessions to purchase will also be available.
Brooke said, "Welcome back, Pasadena! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to discover the hidden secrets of our theater, and to reintroduce you to the magic. You don't want to miss it!! Please join me as we Foster the Memories of The State Theater of California, your
Pasadena Playhouse."

The schedule for the "Fostering the Memories" open house event is as follows:
· 2:00 p.m. - Event begins in the Engemann Family Courtyard with music, refreshments
· 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. - Free guided tours of
The Playhouse by the Friends
· 3:00 p.m. - Presentation from the Mainstage of The
Pasadena Playhouse
· 3:45 p.m. - Refreshments and entertainment resumes on the Engemann Family Courtyard
· 4:00 p.m. - Event concludes

The Playhouse. New summer programming included an inaugural Cirque-A-Palooza festival, a one-week run of Letters From Zora starring
Vanessa Bell Calloway and a sold out nine show limited engagement of
Val Kilmer in Citizen Twain. The
Pasadena Playhouse is the recipient of the Los Angeles Times Reader's Choice Award for "Best Dramatic Theatre" and the Pasadena Star-News' "San Gabriel Valley's Best Live Theatre" 2012 Reader's Choice Award.
