Pablo Heras-Casado returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in three performances, Friday, November 5, at 11 a.m.; Saturday, November 6, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 7, at 2 p.m. Acclaimed pianist Peter Serkin performs Stravinsky's Concerto for Piano and Winds as well as riverrun, which was written by Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu for Serkin and the LA Phil in 1984. The program also features Debussy's Jeux and Stravinsky's popular Suite from The Firebird.

Pablo Heras-Casado enjoys a multi-faceted conducting career of unusual breadth and variety. This season, he appears for the first time with the San Francisco and Seattle Symphonies, and the Canadian Opera Company with Nixon in China. European debuts include Netherlands Radio Chamber Orchestra at the Concertgebouw, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro Real Madrid (Mahagonny) and La Monnaie in Brussels (Toshio Hosokawa's Matsukaze). Recognized as an artist of passion and integrity, the distinguished American pianist Peter Serkin is one of the most thoughtful and individualistic musicians appearing before the public today. Throughout his career he has successfully conveyed the essence of five centuries of repertoire and his performances with symphony orchestras, recital appearances, chamber music collaborations and recordings are respected worldwide.
