Playwright Phil Olson has written nine published plays, including DON'T HUG ME, A DON'T HUG ME CHRISTMAS CAROL, A DON'T HUG ME COUNTY FAIR and A NICE FAMILY GATHERING. His plays and musicals have played in over 100 cities around the U.S. and Canada. Phil grew up in Minneapolis and now lives in Los Angeles where he develops and workshops his plays and musicals.
Olson frequently gets invited to attend his plays around the country. On October 16, Phil will be guest of honor for the San Diego Premiere of his play, A NICE FAMILY GATHERING.
October 23, Phil will be the guest of honor in Port Clinton, Ohio, for the Ohio Premiere of A DON'T HUG ME COUNTY FAIR. In the musical, there's a beauty pageant, the Miss Walleye Queen Competition. Former Miss America Jackie Mayer, Miss America 1963, will make a cameo appearance as one of the beauty pageant judges.
Upcoming November southern California productions of Phil's work include DON'T HUG ME at the Lincoln Stegman Theatre in North Hollywood, and A NICE FAMILY GATHERING at Loyola Marymount University.
On November 6th, his latest work POLYESTER The Musical, with book and lyrics by Olson, music, lyrics, and directed by Wayland Pickard, will have its World Premiere at the Actors
