'Orange Lemon Egg Canary' West-Coast Premieres Feb.22

EVN Productions and Ariana Jackson, in association with The Village Muse will present the West Coast Premiere of Orange Lemon Egg Canary, A Trick In Four Acts, written by Rinne Groff under the direction of Talya Klein.  The cast will include Martina Lotun, Ann Moller, Elizabeth V. Newman and Brett Schneider as "Great."

"Orange Lemon Egg Canary is a love story about obsession, revenge, and above all, magic.  Great, a troubled young magician, is running from his past, the beautiful assistant that betrayed him, and the trick that tore them apart.  He soon befriends Trilby, a waitress with a passion for magic, and initiates her into his haunted world:  a place where cards change color, coins disappear, objects float and love is the biggest illusion of all. When a bitter secret is revealed and magic becomes a matter of life and death, their love is put to the test and Great realizes that he might not have been the one holding the cards all along," explain press notes.

Performances will be presented at The East Theatre of The Complex, 6476 Santa Monica Boulevard (between Wilcox Avenue and Cole Avenue), Hollywood, CA, 90038.  Previews will be presented on Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.  Performances during the Limited Run will be given on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, February 28 – April 5, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.

Production Personnel include:  Talya Klein (Director); Ariana Jackson (Producer); Alanna DeCarlo (Associate Producer); Krystyna Loboda (Set and Lighting Designer); Karen Murk Potter (Costume and Make-Up Designer); Peter West (Magic Consultant); Adria Badagnani (Stage Manager); Sean Lambert (Assistant Stage Manager); and Plays411.com (Box Office).

The critically acclaimed play received its World Premiere on April 1, 2003 at Actors Theatre of Louisville, as part of the Humana Festival of New American Plays.  Subsequent productions of the play have been presented in New York and Chicago.
