The Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA), a nationally recognized arts school that provides bright and talented students with a creative and challenging educational environment, has joined forces with Tony Award-winning Broadway producers (Memphis, Hair, Lombardi, Magic/Bird, Paradise Found) Tim and Pamela Kashani of Apples and Oranges Arts for Bridge to Broadway 2012 at the school's 500-seat Margaret A. Webb Theatre this summer.

This five-week, tuition-free program will provide OCHSA students and alumni with the opportunity to work alongside some of today's top Broadway professionals, including writer/lyricist Don Black (Bonnie and Clyde, Sunset Boulevard and Dracula, The Musical)
and esteemed Broadway actors, musicians, choreographers, and set and costume designers.

Bridge to Broadway brings together theatrical professionals who have performed or worked on Broadway, as well as aspiring performers and theatre technicians of all age and experience levels to develop original works of theatre. The program creates a collaborative environment that fosters a new generation of Working Theatre professionals, empowers working actors, and provides aspiring artists with the resources to grow and strengthen their talents.

Bridge to Broadway also enables students to workshop original theatre pieces in different stages of production and refine them before they are transitioned to Broadway. Students have the opportunity to participate in table readings, rehearse original scripts and songs, and collaborate with seasoned professionals.

"Bridge to Broadway unites emerging artists and promising original musicals in a program that fosters a nurturing atmosphere and contributes to the growth of creative work. Young artists receive an unparalleled opportunity to work collaboratively with seasoned Broadway professionals and experience the essence of the theater world. Musical shows, whether brand new or already in full production, receive the support they need to reach their full potential on stage. As we continue developing Bridge to Broadway, we plan to create master classes and enrichment opportunities open to the general public. We hope the entire Orange County community can join together and be a part of this exciting project," says Tim Kashani, founder of Apples and Oranges Arts.
