Open Fist Presents SORORITY QUEEN IN A MOBILE HOME, Opens 6/16

The Open Fist Theatre Company presents a new show in their 2010 season SORORITY QUEEN IN A MOBILE HOME, written by Michael DiGaetano & Kevin A. Mahoney and directed by Paul Kampf . SORORITY QUEEN IN A MOBILE HOME will preview on Wednesday, June 9 at 8pm; Thursday, June 10 at 8pm; and will open on Wednesday, June 16 at 8pm and run through Thursday, July 15 at The Open Fist Theatre, 6209 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

SORORITY QUEEN IN A MOBILE HOME is a participant in the 2010 Hollywood Fringe Fest. SORORITY QUEEN IN A MOBILE HOME made its debut in the 2009 NYC International Fringe Festival .

Grace and Dennis got divorced. She got the mobile home, he got the pick up truck. He kept the 52 inch big screen TV, she kept the Proctor-Silex iron she put the big hole in the screen with, missing his head by this much. Why did this perfect couple split up? Grace blames Dennis. Dennis blames Grace. Their best friends, the annoying real estate agent and the Eagle scout blame them both. Is it Rashomon on cement blocks, or are they both at fault? Join us at the Shangri-La Mobile Estates in Bakersfield, California, "The Happiest Block on Blocks" where Grace tells her side of the story in Act One. Then head over to The Happy Wanderer Motor Lodge where Dennis is living to hear his side in Act Two. Then you be the judge.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM AND CAST

MICHAEL DiGAETANO (Playwright) Since 1987, Michael -has been a writer and executive producer on many half hour comedy series and pilots for NBC, CBS, and Fox. He also created the series Flesh N' Blood with the creators of 'Cheers' for NBC, and an updated version of Get Smart for Fox. Michael co-wrote the film Houseguest starring Sinbad and Phil Hartman. Currently in development are the feature films The Great Divide at Universal and Thaddeus Snow: Crime Scene Investigator at Belladonna Productions. Michael returned to New York in 2007 to write theatre and to once again live in a real city. His musical, The 'Gay No More' Telethon ("Let's Get One Thing Straight... YOU"!) for which he wrote the book, lyrics and co-wrote the music opened the 2008 NY International Fringe Festival. He is currently writing the book, music and lyrics for Miss Humanity and has just completed his new play The Christmas Letters: A One Woman Show with Two Women

KEVIN A. MAHONEY (Playwright) (M. F. A. Indiana University) is a screenwriter and playwright. Kevin has been a member of the Los Angeles' Playwrights and Company, the Beverly Hills' Free Theatre, and the Lee Strasberg Center. His film, Clayton, will receive a staged reading by the Screen Actors Guild of Houston, Texas, in July. After twenty years in Los Angeles, Kevin moved to his hometown of Norman, Oklahoma, to serve as the interim Executive Director of the Sooner Theatre, an historic 555 seat Equity waiver theatre, and to teach screenwriting at the University of Oklahoma's Film and Video Studies Program. Kevin has been named one of the top screenwriting gurus in the United States bywww. scriptpaladin.net. He has guest lectured at San Francisco State University, the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Santa Fe Screenwriters' Conference, the Oklahoma Scholars' Leadership Enrichment Program. Kevin currently serves as the Coordinator of the Film, Video and Theatre Programs at the University of New Mexico - Taos.

PAUL KAMPF (Director) is a founding member and Artistic Director of Breadline Theatre Group, where he has overseen Breadline's growth from its first production in 1993 to it's evolution into Breadline Productions today. Paul has appeared in over twenty productions and has written or co-written fifteen plays, including American Gothic, which received a Joseph Jefferson nomination for Best New Work, and which he later adapted for the screen and directed (retitled Brothers Three: An American Gothic) featuring Patrick Wilson, John Heard, Neal McDonough and Scott Michael Campbell. He has written, co-written or developed ten screenplays, a number of which will be produced through Breadline's film division.
Paul is a fervent believer in actor training and has developed the Performing Arts Institute, where he teaches ongoing and private classes. He just finished the feature film From Grace, and two shorts films - all featuring professional actors from within the training program. Paul holds an M.F.A. in Acting from Illinois State University and a B.F.A. in Acting/Directing from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. In 1993, he was one of five American Playwrights invited to London's famed Royal Court Theatre, where he worked with some of the most influential theater artists from around the world.

CHRIS CASH (Sound Design) is a composer and arranger based out of Chicago. After having graduated DePaul University's music school, he started building his own recording studio, and quickly placed some of his first Electronica efforts on MTV. He then went on to produce and co-write Chicago artist Dayna Malow's well received debut album Anywhere But Here, and that lead to other writing, producing and arranging jobs with other local artist in a variety of styles including Country, Hip-Hop, Folk, Pop, Jazz and Rock. He was recommended to Paul Kampf and Breadline Productions and a partnership was born. His Breadline Theater designs include: Destination Lost, The Chorus Rebellion, Sons Of Liberty, and the recently premiered, ‘11 September.' He has composed the scores for Breadline's feature films, Brothers Three: An American Gothic, and From Grace.
