Open Fist Theatre Company presents an evening of two solo plays from the 1980s: Cemetery Man by Ken Jenkins and Don't You Ever Call Me Anything But Mother by John O'Keefe.
In Cemetery Man actor Bruce Dickinson (reprising his performance from Sugarloaf Mountain Amphitheater in Chillicothe Ohio) portrays an aging gravedigger on the verge of being replaced by a backhoe. But he refuses to leave his post without a fight, believing the digging of a proper grave must be done with care and concern in order for the departed to enter eternity in peace. In Don't You Ever Call Me Anything But Mother, three-time LA Weekly Award-winning actress Tina Preston revisits her fierce and savagely etched performance, one that stunned Los Angeles and San Francisco audiences in the mid-'80s, as a drunken mother ranting to and about her "possibly" absent son.
