The Orange County Playwrights Alliance (OCPA) makes its annual summer trip to the coast next month, bringing a quartet of one-act plays to Newport Theatre Arts Center on Sunday, July 12 in its latest Discoveries new play event.
A distinguished group of actors and directors will bring these scripts to life in staged readings - new works from OC playwrights who have been produced across the Southland and across the country.
Suppose They Gave a War..., written by Arthur Kraft (Seal Beach). With soldiers armed and ready, a command to go into battle takes an absurd turn ... for the better. Two playwrights, Alice and Becky, attempt to solve a problem - what do you do when your title is so clever you can't write the play to go with it? Featuring Terri Mowrey and Karen Wray.Gentlemen's Pact, written by Karen JP Howes (Huntington Beach). What happens to a friendship and marriage when one man tells another he wants to marry his wife?
