The Orange County Playwrights Alliance kicks off its 2019 season of new play events on Saturday, April 6 at 2:30pm at the highly regarded Chance Theater in Anaheim Hills, with a staged reading of a new full-length work from Eric Eberwein. Peace Be With You was first presented last September in Paper Wing Theatre Company's new play festival (Monterey, CA). Amanda Zarr directs.

Lee just signed up for the Marines. His mother Jody is aghast. His boyfriend Patrick approves. His old girlfriend Courtney fears the worst. After deployment leads to combat, Lee decides he wants out. He comes home on leave, at odds with the man he fell in love with and ill at ease in the world. He enlists Courtney in an elaborate plan - a scheme to disappear, seize media attention, and emerge later to expose atrocities he says he has witnessed. Lee has had it with the war and the world, and wants to vanish - but his escape may make casualties of those he loves.

Eric Eberwein's plays include the vacation misadventure comedy Great Western Wanderlust (winner, Las Vegas Little Theatre New Works Competition, Hunger Artists Theatre Company) and the cult/hippie saga The Diaries of David Kind (Theatre Publicus Jury Prize for Dramatic Literature). His short play The Return Engagement was a finalist in Actors Theatre of Louisville's National Ten-Minute Play Contest.
