Not Man Apart Physical Theatre Ensemble will host a one-time post-performance talk-back panel discussion after the Sunday, August 7 performance of Ajax in Iraq, with several Veteran organizations. Topics to include: Utilizing classic literature and the arts as tools to understanding the military experience and the veteran community; transitioning from military to civilian life; and how civilians can gain a better understanding of the veteran community.
Ajax in Iraq intertwines the important and timely issue of PTSD and sexual abuse against women in the military with the parable of the great warrior Ajax which is said to be one of the first and oldest stories to openly portray the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. This revival of Ellen McLaughlin's edgy action drama is set in U.S. occupied Iraq and is presently enjoying its run at the Greenway Court Theatre through August 14.
Not Man Apart Physical Theatre Ensemble generates innovative physical works of theater and transformational experiences. Founded in 2004 in northern California, the award-winning company has toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, receiving the coveted Fringe First Award.
