Judge and Executive Producer of 'So You Think You Can Dance' Nigel Lythgoe strongly believes that Ellen DeGeneres will prove a valued addition to American Idol, however he also has fighting words for Idol.

Lythgoe, speaking to Entertainment Weekly from the red carpet at Saturday's Creative Arts Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, claims that Idol "stole" Ellen from his show, and so he's prepared to "steal" Paula. Ellen was a guest judge on SYTYCD this past summer. To read the rest of the story, click here.

Since fan-favorite judge Paula Abdul announced she was leaving American Idol, speculation has been heavy as to who would replace her. TV talk show and comedian Ellen DeGeneres has been named as her successor, fuelling many debates.

'So You Think You Can Dance', created by Simon Fuller (of American Idol) and Nigel Lythgoe, premiered in 2005 and comes from 19 Entertainment, Ltd and Dick Clark Productions. The show holds televised auditions in major cities of the US in the hopes of finding the next big dance superstar.

The show is on its sixth season and airs on Wednesdays on FOX TV.
