New Village Arts, Carlsbad's award-winning, professional theatre, will be presenting a special one-night-only playreading of Wendy Wasserstein's OLD MONEY on Monday, April 19 at 7:30 PM.  Directed by NVA Ensemble Member Rachael VanWormer, the cast includes VanWormer with fellow Ensemble member Jack Missett along with Jim Chovick, Jo Anne Glover, Linda Libby, Brian Mackey, Frances Regal and Eddie Yaroch.  All tickets are pay-what-you-can and can be purchased at the box office after 6:30 PM on Monday.

A dinner party in an ornate mansion on the fashionable Upper East Side of Manhattan provides the scene for this witty and incisive play.  Set in two eras - the first and the last years of the twentieth century - the characters move effortlessly from one period to the other.  An examination of old and new money and the fact that no matter how much has changed in our society, some things never do.  "The Tony Award-winning playwright has channeled her flair for witty social commentary into a portrait of two very wealthy families who live a century apart.... A sharply written ... rumination on how the other half lives, and a reminder that some of the best things in life truly are free."-USA Today.

OLD MONEY is an excellent companion piece to THE HEIDI CHRONICLES, currently running at New Village Arts through April 25th.
