Tales of Downtown: One Woman's Adventures Living in A Loft in Downtown LA, written and created by writer/publisher Nancy Mills, follows the adventures and mis-adventures of a former entertainment industry journalist who made the leap from the Westside to downtown, and found a world filled with her very own cast of characters. Following a sold-out performance in 2009, Tales of Downtown returns to Company of Angels, located in the historic Alexandria Hotel for one performance only, Sunday March 28 at 3pm. Greg Gately is Director/Producer.

Nancy Mills is a former columnist at the Hollywood Reporter, whose articles have appeared in many magazines, such as Ladies' Home Journal and MORE. She is the publisher of the leading woman's empowerment site, The Spirited Woman, and she leads "A Conversation Series with Co-creators and Downtown Visionaries." In 2008, intrigued by downtown L.A.'s revitalization (and needing to make a personal change BIG TIME), Mills made the move to an historic 19th Century Broadway office building that had been converted into residential lofts. Now deeply ensconced within the daily action of downtown life, Mills was compelled to chronicle her observations. Voila! A blog was born. Then one thing lead to another and a performance was born.

Tales of Downtown features a four-member ensemble, including Juanita Chase, Deborah Geer, Betty Goldstein & Jill Weiss, followed by a Special Q&A with writer/creator Nancy Mills. Included is a Post Performance Buffet Dinner & Champagne Event at Weeneez Hot Dog Parlor & Art Gallery.

Company of Angels not only symbolically become, in its own right, a landmark in the history of Los Angeles' performing arts, it has become part of our city's heritage. Founded in 1959 as an artists cooperative by a group of actors, among them Leonard Nimoy, Company of Angels celebrated its 50th anniversary with a benefit and gala honoring Leonard Nimoy, Robert Ellenstein and Culture Clash in October 2009.

Along the way the company has received almost every Los Angeles theatrical award, including The LA Drama Critics Circle Award, the Drama-Logue Award, the LA Weekly Award, and the Ovation Award. During this time the company has been sustained solely by its membership who continue to create exciting work that is now dedicated to reflecting the City of Angels. www.companyofangels.org
