Discover a world haunted by the escaped works of Edgar Allan Poe, re-imagined as local stories.

NEVERMORE METRO Immersive Arts Festival is a project of Theatre Magnet, a subsidiary of Artist Magnet, founded by site-specific producer David Mack, and RENT Poet, founded by curator Brian Sonia-Wallace, in partnership with the Eclectic Company Theatre.

The first ever haunted Valley bus ride. Participants are encouraged to arrive wearing their favorite costume, receive METRO Day Passes, and choose-their-own-adventure or take a guided tour through interactive experiences near METRO stations from Woodley Park through the Eclectic Company Theatre @ Laurel Canyon. Audiences weave their journey through the ongoing everyday life of the community and bus riders, discovering the hidden treasures of the East San Fernando Valley.

Featured immersive experiences include: a virtual reality (VR) station, live poetry readings, live music, theatrical performances, installations, a community open-mic and dining with local street vendors.

Featured performers and partners include: LA Poet Laureate Luis J Rodriguez, Douglas Kearney, Co-curator Nicelle Davis & the Living Poetry Project, Las Lunas Locas, Southern California Handweavers' Guild, C.I.C.L.E., USC-VR, Imaginese Free Productions, Write Bloody Press, Tia Chucha's Bookstore, Yak Press, and Melrose Poetry Bureau.

Tickets start at $15 (reduced-priced and free tickets available for local community members, students, recent alums and veterans) - for details visit bit.ly/nevermoremetro.

Check-in and experience begins at Woodley Park, Section 1 (6100 Woodley Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91406-6450) on Sat, Oct 29 @ 11am-5pm (audience can arrive and leave at any point for the immersive experience or join 2hr site-specific guided tours at 11am, 12, 2 & 3pm).

NEVERMORE is funded in part by a City of LA Artist-in-ResidenCy Grant and the Creative Economic Development Fund (CEDF), with support from the Surdna Foundation, Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) and the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA). Additional support comes from the LA Tourism & Convention Board, METRO and the Office of Councilmember Nury Martinez.
