Santa Claus is Comin' to Town and so are the WINTER WONDERETTES (December 9-18, 2011). Musical Theatre West presents the holiday sequel to the Roger Bean favorite, The Marvelous Wonderettes. Musical Theatre West's WINTER WONDERETTES is ALL NEW, featuring new sets, new costumes, new orchestrations, and new choreography all being constructed specifically for this production. WINTER WONDERETTES is the second show of the 59th Season and will perform at the beautiful 1,070-seat Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach for a limited nine performance run from December 9 through December 18, 2011.

Roger Bean created the long-running off-Broadway sensation and MTW hit The Marvelous Wonderettes, as well as the holiday sequel Winter Wonderettes. Original cast albums for both Wonderettes shows are available from PS Classics (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and LML Music (Winter Wonderettes)—look for both on iTunes. Other musicals created by MR. Bean include the cross-dressing ‘40s musical The Andrews Brothers (a MTW favorite), Why Do Fools Fall In Love?, Honky Tonk Laundry, That’s Amoré, Beach Blanket Bash, Don’t Touch That Dial! and the cross-country hit Route 66 (over 150 productions throughout the country). MR. Bean also created the long-running Los Angeles hit Life Could Be a Dream, which received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, the LA Weekly Theatre Award and the Backstage Garland Award for Best/Outstanding Musical of 2010. MR. Bean’s latest work is Summer of Love, a hippie, trippy musical featuring the powerful music of the late 1960s countercultural revolution which premiered in April at Musical Theatre West. www.rogerbean.com
Missy, Suzy, Betty Jean, and Cindy Lou help ring in the holidays with the follow-up to the smash hit THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES. This seasonal sequel finds the girls returning to their hometown for Betty Jean’s company Christmas party. When Santa turns up missing, the girls must use their talent and creative ingenuity, plus some great holiday tunes, to save the celebration. The result is, of course, marvelous! The Wonderettes bring their signature four-part harmony to songs from “O Tannenbaum” to “Mele Kalikamaka” in a show that’s a high-energy treat guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages. It’s a marshmallow world, so join us at the annual Harper’s Hardware Holiday Party with the WINTER WONDERETTES.
