Monster, the leading manufacturer of advanced consumer electronics accessories and high-performance headphones, is proud to announce that it is sponsoring "Team Grizz" for the National Kidney Foundation Walk 2011 Season, in several cities. Over 6,000 participants are expected to wear the Monster logo on the back of their t-shirts while they walk in support, starting May 15 through October 16. For those who would like to support the event they can go to www.teamgrizz.com.
Grizz is also an advocate for Kidney Disease and the Spokesperson for the National Kidney Foundation. Two years ago, he was diagnosed with E.S.R.F. (End Stage Renal Failure) and after shedding over 160 lbs and undergoing two years of dialysis while taping 30 Rock, he underwent a successful kidney transplant. Grizz has been on a crusade to raise awareness of kidney disease and the effects it has on the body. Bringing light to the early warning signs and the risk factors can help prevent people from progressing to E.S.R.F. and dialysis.
Monster's sponsorship of National Kidney Foundation Walks for Team Grizz in 2011 includes the following cities and locations:
Long Island, NY at Hofstra University on May 15; Atlanta, GA at Turner Field on May 21; Syracuse, NY at Alliance Bank Stadium on June 12; Philadelphia, PA at The Philadelphia Zoo on October 9; Georgetown, Washington D.C. at the Georgetown Waterfront on October 15; and New York, NY at South Street Seaport on October 16.
Head Monster Noel Lee noted: "There is a great need for increased awareness of kidney disease, and Monster applauds the efforts of Grizz Chapman, the National Kidney Foundation and everyone who is participating in these very important walkathons, literally taking steps to help raise awareness and the need for organ donation. We are honored to be able to play our part by sponsoring 'Team Grizz' and we look forward to following the progress of the team's fundraising drive closely."
