A new cabaret series is set to light up Los Angeles. "The Spotlight: LA's Broadway Cabaret" will begin performances beginning June 2, 2006 and will continue monthly.

"'The Spotlight: LA's Broadway Cabaret' was created with one thing in mind…bringing exceptional Broadway talent to Los Angeles, to perform in an extremely intimate setting. The audience will hear their favorite Broadway show tunes by some of the most amazing Broadway performers, in a no-frills cabaret setting; it is a casual evening with a microphone and a piano, leaving the audience with a rare evening of performance," state press notes.

"The Spotlight: LA's Broadway Cabaret" is produced by Danny Feldman, Christopher McDonald and Jeff Thomas, three veterans of the television and the theatre industry. Shows will be under the musical direction of Gerald Sternbach.

On Friday, June 2nd, the series will kick off with a cabaret performance by Luba Mason, who has been on Broadway in Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde, The Capeman, How to Succeed... and more, and Jennifer Leigh Warren, whose Broadway credits include Marie Christine and Big River. The evening will begin at 9 PM.

Feldman's producing credits include 12th Premise, 40 Days, bare (Ovation Award), the Los Angeles Premiere of Terrence McNally's Corpus Christi and Little Shop of Horrors. He served as the Vocal Director for Pussycat Dolls Live at the Roxy as well as Music Director for many shows in the Los Angeles area. Currently, Feldman is in his fourth season as Company Manager at REPRISE! Broadway's Best. He holds a degree in Music from UCLA.

McDonald is now in his third season as a producer for the Dr. Phil television show. Other television producing credits include "The Donny & Marie Show," Richard Simmons' "Dream Maker and Beyond" with James Van Praagh. He was also a casting director for the hit Bravo series "Boy Meets Boy". McDonald loves working in the television industry, but theater has always been his true passion and he is excited to be taking on this new endeavor.

Thomas has spent the past 15 years building his career in the Entertainment Industry, producing such shows as "The Tyra Banks Show," "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus," "The Donny & Marie Show," and more. Thomas' theater credits include being a stage manager on DisneyFest Asia, and also as a Lighting Designer and assistant for several regional theaters, including the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, The Mountain Playhouse, and the Pittsburgh Public Theater. He helped launch several national touring productions such as The Wiz starring Stephanie Mills, Brigadoon starring John Schneider, and Show Boat with Gavin MacLeod.

Currently completing his fourth season as musical director at Reprise! Broadway's Best, Sternbach has received six Theatre LA Ovation and three LA Drama Critics Nominations! Other credits include his debut with the LA Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl for the Sondheim 75th Birthday Concert. Broadway credits as Associate Conductor include Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Merlin, The Tap Dance Kid, the first national tour of Song and Dance (with Melissa Manchester) and the LA premiere company of Les Miserables. In addition to his many credits as musical director, Sternbach is also a respected songwriter.

The home of "The Spotlight: LA's Broadway Cabaret" is the Ten20 Lounge, located in the beautiful Belage Hotel, at 1020 North San Vicente Boulevard in West Hollywood, just off the exciting Sunset Strip.

There is a $10 cash donation at the door for the June 2nd concert (patrons will also have the option to order dinner and drinks at an additional cost). Visit www.thespotlightla.com for more information.
