Martin Sheen Joins Garrison Keillor for A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION at the Hollywood Bowl

Martin Sheen, along with Ellie Dehn, Jearlyn Steele, Jevetta Steele and Sara Watkins, will be among the special guests performing on A Prairie Home Companion, hosted by Garrison Keillor at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, July 13. The long-running, live radio show, based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is now touring, and the Hollywood Bowl will be the last stop on the tour, concluding the show's 38th season.

The program is filled with special guest performances, comedy sketches, musical interludes and Keillor's signature monologue, "The News from Lake Wobegon." The evening's performance will be recorded live and broadcast the following day, July 14, on over 600 public radio stations across the country through American Public Media. The talent in this production is a revolving cast of characters from special guests and guest hosts to the main cast, called The Royal Academy of Radio Actors which is comprised of Tim Russell, Sue Scott, sound effects man FrEd Newman and Erica Rhodes. Holding everything together is The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band with musical director Richard Dworsky along with Pat Donohue, Gary Raynor, Peter Johnson, Richard Kriehn, Kenni Holmen, Steve Strand, Michael B. Nelson.

A Prairie Home Companion is heard by some 4 million listeners nationwide, as well as on XM Radio, the Armed Forces Network Europe, the Far East Network, and in dozens of European cities via the Astra satellite network. The program is produced by Prairie Home Productions and presented by American Public Media.

Host of public radio programs A Prairie Home Companion and The Writer's Almanac, Garrison Keillor is also the author of numerous books, including Pilgrims: A Wobegon Romance, and Guy Noir and the Straight Skinny (Viking), and the editor of several anthologies of poetry, including Good Poems: American Places (Viking).
