In 1988, Mark Lowry was offered the baritone part in the Gaither Vocal Band. Mark remained with the Vocal Band for 13 years, performing dozens of solo concerts each year, as well. Mark's antics on stage with Bill Gaither were an instant hit with Vocal Band audiences and their comedy became the highlight of the evening when the Homecoming tour was born. Mark has been featured on most all of the Gaither Homecoming videos - now numbering more than one hundred - often in the co-hosting role with Bill. Lowry rejoined the Gaither Vocal Band in 2009 after more than seven years of absence in 2009.
Lowry began singing and recording albums and videos at age eleven. He graduated from Liberty College (now Liberty University) in 1980, taking with him a Youth degree. When he felt God calling him to a music ministry, he began performing at churches across the country. His music acts eventually turned into comedic acts as Lowry added bits of his life stories between songs. After nearly 40 years of singing and speaking publicly, Lowry is currently touring the country, sharing both his touching testimony and his comedic acts.
The Gallo Center for the Arts' 2011-12 Premier Partner is Boyett Petroleum.
