The 28th Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational, February 18-20, 2016, will be a very special event honoring "100 Years of Sinatra" and the life of one of the most celebrated singers of this century. Frank Sinatra is known as an iconic entertainer who comes along once in a lifetime and tonight, December 12, this year he would've been 100 years old. This year's memorable two-day celebrity-amateur golf tournament will be held at Eagle Falls Golf Course at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California. Barbara Sinatra is the gracious hostess along with Joe Mantegna, current star of the CBS hit drama Criminal Minds. Barbara and Joe will be joined by celebrities such as: Tom Dreesen, Grant Fuhr, Beverly Johnson, William DeVane, Jim McMahon, Ann Meyers-Drysdale, Elke Sommer, Kevin Sorbo and many more to be announced at a later date.
Along with the celebrity-filled golf event there will be three nights of parties, entertainment, silent and live auction, luncheon and fashion show and so much more. "The Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational will be filled with additional excitement around 100 Years of Sinatra. This event will be like none other in our history," said Mary Martin, Tournament Director.
Festivities kick-off Thursday, February 18 with a special reception planned for participants. Friday the 19th begins the first round of golf, a glamour-filled Luncheon & Fashion Show presented by Grayse, silent and live auction and dinner featuring entertainment by the popular vocal trio, The Letterman. Saturday the 20th is the final round of golf, silent and live auction and the Black Tie Gala Reception and Dinner with a special tribute planned to Frank Sinatra and entertainment by the 5th Dimension. The 5th dimension will croon the night away with their repertoire of R & B, light jazz and soul music for an evening not to miss. Sunday concludes the event with an open house hosted at the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center from 11:30am - 1:00pm.
The tournament began as "Frank's little party in the desert" and was founded by Barbara and Frank Sinatra in 1988 to raise funds for the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Over the years the tournament has remained very popular and has given over $9 million dollars to the center to provide counseling for victims of physical, sexual and emotional abuse; and to focus on prevention, community education and eradicating the cycle of abuse.
