Milt Larsen, creator of the world renowned Magic Castle in Hollywood, California will be inducted into the coveted Pacific Pioneer Broadcaster's Diamond Circle at a luncheon in the Empire Room of the Sportsmans Lodge in Studio City on May 10, 2013. This very special honor recognizes a member of the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters who has made a significant contribution to broadcasting.
During his outstanding television writing career Mr. Larsen served for 19 years on the writing staff of Bob Barker's Truth or Consequences TV series. He played the same key role for Gomer Pyle on his successful show and his writing creativity was a major factor in the success of numerous other television programs.
For the past six years Mr. Larsen has hosted two radio shows on the Cable Radio Network celebrating and documenting the fabled Tin Pan Alley and its hit songs of the 20s and 30s. Academy Award winning composer Richard Sherman co-hosts one of those shows with him.
His Magic Castle in Hollywood is America's premier private club for the professions finest magicians and it too has played an ongoing role in support of broadcasting as the site of countless radio and TV station events over its 50 year history.
