With the fall season upon us, the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited to announce that Lythgoe Family Panto will once again return to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium with its newest production, The Wonderful Winter of Oz, December 15-30. This is the second year in a row Lythgoe Family Panto will showcase a family-friendly musical at the historic venue. Last December, they produced Beauty and the Beast - A Christmas Rose, featuring some of Hollywood's most recognized actors.

Presented in association with the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and Lythgoe Family Panto, The Wonderful Winter of Oz is a fun musical adventure that puts a spin on the classic fairy tale. "We are excited to partner with Lythgoe Family Panto on what will be another great holiday production. The Pasadena Civic Auditorium holds its own magic which has played an integral role in entertaining visitors for over three generations," said Jeanne O'Grady Goldschmidt, Executive Director of the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau.

In the same tone, "we are thrilled to sign a multi-year deal with the historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium, said Lythgoe Family Panto. "Pasadena is our home for our premier productions across the country as we continue to bring families together during the holidays and introduce new audiences to the theatre."

Built in 1932, during the Great Depression, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium has welcomed millions of patrons across Southern California. Inspired by Mediterranean Revival architecture, the 3,000 seat theatre has hosted countless concerts and plays, including but not limited to the Daytime Emmy Awards, NAACP Image Awards and in 1983, Motown 25 where Michael Jackson debuted the Moonwalk. The venue has also been used for film and television shows such as "Alias," "American Idol," "America's Got Talent," "So You Think You Can Dance," "Scandal" and "NCIS."

Known for their creativity and involvement in television hits "American Idol" and "So You Think You Can Dance," the Lythgoes are dedicated to bringing affordable theatre to families across America. Based on the Grimm fairy tales and others, each story has been modernized with topical scripts for parents and well known pop songs for kids. The Lythgoes pride themselves on creating a memorable experience a family can share together.

The Wonderful Winter of Oz marks Lythgoe Family Panto's second production at the historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium and their seventh consecutive Panto presentation in Pasadena, five of which were presented at Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California.
