Lucid Dramatics has announced a limited engagement of Revival, a world premiere play by Carla Neuss at the Acting Artists Theatre in West Hollywood. Directed by Neuss, Revival is set to open Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 8pm. The play will run for seven performances through February 7 only.

In Revival, Crispin's bar hosts a panoply of characters - burnt-out pastor Fred, the master storyteller and cocktail connoisseur Tyler, and Jo, a jaded college student-turned-escort. While Crispin helps these patrons escape the mundane aspects of their lives through transformative drinks, he is secretly searching for a long lost liqueur that he hopes will bring about his own transformation. The play was the 2010 Oxford New Writing Festival winner.

Playwright/Director Carla Neuss is a Southern California native. She attended UC Berkeley majoring in English and Theatre. She interned at South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, supporting the production of five world premiere plays. During her time there, she worked with Tony Award-winning director Sharon Ott and Pulitzer Prize-winner Amy Freed. Neuss earned her Masters Degree in English and Theatre at Oxford University. This year, she served as the producer of the 12th Annual Laguna Beach Music Festival. She has directed 11 plays in California, New York, and the UK. As a playwright, her work has been twice awarded in the Oxford New Writing Festival and she was a finalist for the Soho Theatre's Verity Bargate Award for Emerging Writers.

The cast of Revival will feature (in alphabetical order) Victor Gurevich, Joseph Martone, Ben Moroski, James Svatko, and Adrienne Whitney. The scenic design is by Yuri Okahana, lighting design is by Jeff Brewer, costume design is by Brianna Ellis-Mitchell, and the stage manager is Vanessa Espino. Katelyn Schiller serves as associate producer.

Revival opens on Sunday, January 18 at 8pm and will continue on Saturdays, January 24, 31, and February 7 at 3pm and 8pm. General seating admission is $25 and tickets are available online at www.luciddramatics.com or by calling (949) 616-9726.
